The camps listed as “Outdoor Family Experience” are accepting reservations through February 28, 2021. March 1st and beyond will need to be booked in the camps that do not have “Outdoor Family Experience” in their names (for Example, Pine Ridge Outdoor Family Experience will allow reservations through February 28, but for dates past then, you must go to Pine Ridge Scout Reservation).
All tent sites are free for camping. Cabins (families only) are half price, and some program areas are discounted.
Pine Ridge is on a large, beautiful lake, with ample fishing opportunity. Every campsite is equipped with a pavilion, picnic tables, and fire pit area for cooking. There are centrally located shower and toilet facilities, available to all the campsites. Campers will have easy access to the lake and the hiking trail around camp.
Pine Ridge Scout Camp is nestled in the heart of the Shawnee National Forest along the shores of Little Grassy Lake, southeast of Carbondale. The land is part of the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge. The Shawnee River Trail, the Crab Orchard and Panthers Den Wilderness all surround the lakes of this refuge. Scouts have unbelievable outdoor resources at their disposal.

Welcome! Please arrive at 3pm or later on your check-in day. Upon driving into camp, to check-in, call or text the head ranger (Jaime Senn at 618-549-0673) to let him know you arrived. If you know where you are camping, go straight to your campsite. If you do not know where you are camping, the ranger will meet you at the ranger station (the first building you see entering camp), and lead you to your site. The ranger will maintain social distance when interacting with you, for everyone's safety.
Please be out of your site by 11am on your last day. To check-out, you will call the ranger right before you leave the property. If the ranger does not hear from you by noon, s/he will visit your site to check in on you.
Full refunds will be given for all day, overnight, and program reservations when they are canceled one week, or more, in advance of the visit. If reservations are canceled in the week prior to the start of the reservation, no refund will be given, but the funds can be transferred to a future reservation, if desired. In the event of severe weather that cancels a program reservation like boating, swimming, horseback riding, and climbing, full refunds will be given or transferred to future event, if desired. To request a refund, email camping@stlbsa.org where you will be asked to submit a refund request form.
