Eagle River Scout Camp

The walk into camp is worth the trip. Troops arrive Sunday afternoon and take the 1.3 mile walk with their personal gear into camp. Scouts and Leaders stay in one of the camp’s cabins spread through out camp and enjoy eating all of their meals in the dining hall that overlooks Favorite Channel. Camp activities are scheduled around the tide so merit badge and activity times are scheduled to maximize both high and low tides.  The camp is in a rain forest so be prepared with proper boots and rain gear to have the most positive experience while enjoying seeing the eagles, whales, sea lions and other animals that call this area home. Friday night campfires are always a big hit! The camp is far enough South in Alaska that there is dusk and night. It is not uncommon to see a cruise ship lit up at night making its way up the channel after campfire.  Camp wraps up Saturday morning.  The camp is very grateful to the local volunteers and organizations who come in and help make camp successful. Getting there is half the fun.
