Camp Hi-Sierra, located high in the stunning Stanislaus National Forest at 5,000 feet, our camp is the perfect place to explore, learn, and make lifelong memories.
As you step onto the campgrounds, you'll hear the cheerful sounds of the North Fork of the Tuolumne River flowing through the area. It’s like nature’s very own soundtrack, inviting you to dive into fun activities like fishing, swimming, and building friendships around the campfire.
Camp Hi-Sierra isn’t just any campsite; it has a rich history that dates back centuries. This land was once home to the Miwok Indians, who enjoyed the beauty of the forest, and later became the site of early homesteads and a sawmill that provided lumber for the region. In 1949, the Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council bought this amazing 100-acre property for just $10 from Edward Jenness, who owned a massive 5,000 acres in the area. The first summer camp took place that same year, and since then, Camp Hi-Sierra has been the backdrop for countless Scout adventures.
At Camp Hi-Sierra, you’ll find that the spirit of scouting runs deep. From team-building challenges to outdoor skills training, every experience here is designed to help you grow, learn, and embrace the Scout values. Whether you're hiking through the towering trees, sharing stories by the campfire, or learning something new with your fellow Scouts, you’ll be creating memories that will last a lifetime.
