Welcome to the Gerald I. Lawhorn Scouting Base reservation page!

Below you’ll find descriptions of all of our facilities and activity centers that are available to your unit or group.

Please note that the following activities have a 14 day notice requirement. This is in place so that we have enough time to secure our instructors/drivers to help facilitate your event! We thank you for your understanding.

IMPORTANT:

Please select facility during the reservation process to ensure that you will have access. If facility is NOT selected, this may lead to an inability to participate in the desired activty.

FRAA Chattahoochee

Chattahoochee is a site located near the top of the hill that offers unparalled privicy and is the perfect place for hikers and mountain bikers to use as a base camp for their treks

Cherokee, located near the Water front and Dining hall

Up the Hill from the Dining Hall, Chinook has easy acess to the Ranges making it an excellent spot for those making use of those Facilities

Choctaw, is a small campsite, just up the hill from the Waterfront, and down the Hill from the dining Hall. Excellent spot for smaller groups

Located just off the Waterfront, Creek is the campsite for those seeking water based activities while at camp. Also has the best sunrises on camp

Thunder Iroquios

Iroquois is one of the two largest campsites on the Thunder Side of the Property. With easy acess to the healthlodge, Howard Admin building, and the council ring, it is the perfect site for our larger groups

Seminole Campsite is secluded frome the surroundings, yest still has easy acess to the Council ring and fishing lake

Thunder Tuscarora

located on the Outer Loop of Camp, Tuscarora backs onto our 1600 acres of Back country hiking and Biking Trails. This grants phenomenal acess as a base camp for groups interested in those activities

On arrival proceed directly to your reserved campsite and then call our Camp Ranger, Brian Stokes at 706-575-4453 to Check in

Check Out Procedure Back to Top

When leaving camp take all trash from your site to the dumpsters and ensure campsite is neat and orderly

Cancellation Policy Back to Top

Cancellations more than 7 days prior to arrival will be refunded at 100% minus the security deposit

Cleaning Policy Back to Top

Please place trash in on-site trash bins and leave site better than you found it. Damage to site and/or property may incur addtional fees.
