Modern amenities: no electricity, no water, no indoor plumbing,
Interior Features: Nicely finished cabin with woodstove, bunks with mattresses. 3-burner propane-ready indoor stove.
Exterior Features: 2 picnic tables, 1 Fire Pit, covered porch.
Water/Latrines: Cabin is very convenient to both latrines and water. Nearest latrine is adjacent to cabin. Nearest water pump is at the start of Nipmuc Trail.
Feel: Webelos Woods, Cabin 5 (32) is the ideal cabin for a first Nobscot experience for Webelos or young Scouts. Latrines and a water pump are very close. It is the closest cabin to the parking lot (except for Hendersen Lodge). It has a separate adult room with sleeping for 4 plus a main room with sleeping for 8 scouts. It includes a 3-burner propane-ready indoor stove (propane not supplied), wood stove, two picnic tables, and a porch. It has all that you need to get acquainted with the outdoors, while being relatively close to the parking lot. Webelos Woods is also very close to the excellent Adirondacks and Tenting areas at the Peabody site.
Path: The trail to Cabin 5 (32) travels over mostly flat terrain, making it relatively easy if pulling a cart of equipment.
Backpacking is always encouraged at Nobscot!
Directions: To get to Webelos Woods Cabin 5 (32) take Belden’s Way to the start of Legion Trail. Webelos Woods is just off the trail on your right.
