Nice cabin near cabin 18 (11) and Ellisland. For some activities the large ‘wood-chipped’ field in front of Cabin is a feature.

GPS Location & Distance: Cabin 19 (10) is at: 34368, -71.44318
Distance: 0.43 miles – carry in/carry out.

Tenting Capacity: Large, wood-chipped field in front of cabin: 30+ scouts in tents

Modern amenities: no electricity, no water, no indoor plumbing,

Interior Features: Nicely finished cabin (renovated summer 2020) with woodstove, cookstove, bunks with mattresses.

Exterior Features: 2 picnic tables, 1 Fire Pit

Water/Latrines: Cabin is very convenient to both latrines and water. Nearest latrine is a very short distance up Jethro Trail. Nearest water pump is up Jethro Trail near Highland Cabin.

Feel: Cabin was completely renovated in 2020. It is close to Ellisland, latrines, and water and provides a great cabin experience. With both a Cookstove and a Woodstove inside and a Fire pit outside, you have cooking flexibility and heat to take the edge off any cold weather. The front of Cabin is a large ‘wood-chipped’ field that is suitable for a range of structured activities, but it does take away from the wilderness feel. Cabin 19 (10), cabin 18 (11), and Ellisland are in close proximity such that a large group (or a group of boys and girls) could easily use multiple locations.  Cabin 19 (10) was renovated by the Nobscot Alumni Association “Hammer Crew” in 2020.

Path: The trail to Cabin travels mostly over slightly-sloped terrain, with one moderately-steep section making it not difficult to pull a cart of equipment, other than the almost ½ mile trek in.
Backpacking is always encouraged at Nobscot!

Directions: To get to Cabin 19 (10), take Ellisland Trail to end. Turn right onto Jethro Trail. A little bit after you pass Ellisland (on your left), Cabin is off the trail – in the woods on your right.

If you pull a garden cart up to this site, please return it quickly to the shed for others to use.
