All reservations MUST be made online, NOT over the phone. 

The online reservation system opens on ????? at 9 AM promptly for the September 13, 2024 through June 8, 2025 Due to summer camp operation, the possibility exists that a camp may be unavailable between June through August.

Reservations that are made are only temporary and become official once payment is received and applied at Minsi Trails Council .  Review receipt for payment instructions.

Camp Minsi, facilities, and/or rentals may not be available on certain dates due to Order of Arrow, Special Events, District training, or Minsi Trails Council programs.

There is NO waiting list for rentals.  Please check back into the system for openings throughout the year.

If you are trying to make a reservation within 2 weeks of when you want to use a facility, you need to contact council to make your reservation.  You won't be able to do it online.

CAMP WILL BE CLOSED THE FOLLOWING DATES FOR THE FOLLOWING OA AND COUNCIL EVENTS, HOLIDAYS OR BREAKS

October 21, 2024 to January 30, 2025 all assets that are past our first bridge will be closed due to bridge construction.  You will still be able to reserve the Weytrex Cabin, Adirondaks, and Lakeside Campsites.

Rental invoices need to be paid and received at the MTC office within 10 days of the invoiced date, otherwise the rental will be deleted.  The mailing address will be listed on the invoice. All checks should be made out to Minsi Trails Council.  

The possibility exists, where an asset appears to not be available within minutes of the system opening - a registration may have already been secured by another group. 

Adult Supervision

Two registered adult leaders 21 years of age or over are required at all Scouting activities, including meetings. There must be a registered female adult leader 21 years of age or over in every unit serving females. A registered female adult leader 21 years of age or over must be present for any activity involving female youth. Notwithstanding the minimum leader requirements, age- and program-appropriate supervision must always be provided. 

All adults accompanying a Scouting unit who are present at the activity for 72 total hours or more must be registered as leaders. The 72 hours need not be consecutive.

One-on-one contact between adult leaders and youth members is prohibited both inside and outside of Scouting. 

In situations requiring a personal conference, the meeting is to be conducted with the knowledge and in view of other adults and/or youth.

Private online communications (texting, phone calls, chat, IM, etc.) must include another registered leader or parent.

Communication by way of social media (Facebook, Snapchat, etc.) must include another registered leader or parent.

Discipline must be constructive.

Discipline must reflect Scouting’s values.

Corporal punishment is never permitted.

Disciplinary activities involving isolation, humiliation, or ridicule are also prohibited.

Responsibility

Leaders must ensure that all participating in Scouting activities abide by the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Adult leaders and youth members share the responsibility for the safety of all participants in the program, including adherence to Youth Protection and health and safety policies.

Adult leaders are responsible for monitoring behavior and intervening when necessary.

Physical violence, sexual activity, emotional abuse, spiritual abuse, unauthorized weapons, hazing, discrimination, harassment, initiation rites, bullying, cyberbullying, theft, verbal insults, drugs, alcohol, and pornography have no place in the Scouting program and may result in revocation of membership.

All leaders are required to adhere to the Scouter Code of Conduct.

Accommodations

Separate accommodations for adult males and females and youth males and females are required.

Tenting

Separate tenting arrangements must be provided for male and female adults as well as for male and female youth.

Youth sharing tents must be no more than two years apart in age.

In Cub Scouting, parents and guardians may share a tent with their family.

In all other programs, youth and adults tent separately. 

Spouses may share tents.

Lodging/Cabin Accommodations

Whenever possible, separate cabins or lodging should be provided for male and female adults as well as for male and female youth. Where separate accommodations cannot be provided due to group size or limited availability, modifications may be made. Where completely separate accommodations are not available, additional supervision is required.

If adults and youth of the same gender occupy single-room accommodations, there must be a minimum of two adults and four youth, with all adults being Youth Protection trained.

Physical separation by other means, including temporary barriers or space, should be used only when no other arrangements are possible.

These modifications are limited to single-gender accommodations.

 

Water

Water is turned off (tentatively) October 15 through (tentatively) April 15 at Camp Minsi

Frost freeze water is available at the maintanacne building for Camp Minsi.  There are no frost freeze water after the first bridge of camp at Camp Minsi.   April 15 is a target date for water turn on. Turn on may be later!

Dining Halls

Our Dining Halls are only used for saftey shelters, meals, meetings, and gathering purposes.  There is NO overnight sleeping allowed in these facilities, unless approved for safety purposes by the Camp Ranger or Director of Support Services

Kitchens

Kitchens are not available between October 15 and April 15 due to the status of  water in the buildings.

Kitchen rentals do not come with pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups, paper products, cleaning products….etc.  All groups need to bring your own items.

Camp Sites

Straw and or hay bales are PROHIBITIED on all properties for camping capacity use.

Are approved for year round camping,  Latrines are available in most all sites.

Winter Tents @ Camp Minsi

When arriving, please identify off your reservation receipt the Winter Tent Name/Number.  These tents are not first come first serve.  Each tent is reserved through the online system and is identified as such. 

During winter at Camp Minsi, when renting the winter tents, the winter meal lodge is reserved free of charge for units to utilize for meals and gathering puposes.  Recognize there are no ovens or refrigeration, just counter space. Additionally in the meal lodge are picnic tables, as well as a pot belly stove for heating purposes only. 

Please use care and caution when utilizing the stoves in each tent.  Fire exstiguishers are available, as well as fire buckets.  When cleaning out after use, please use caution when disposing of fire waste.

This is a hike-in site only. Parking is available at the Camp Main lot.  

This area is not supplied through the camp water system.  

This site is rustic with a fire circle.

No latrines available in and around the back country areas.

Winter Conditions and Roads

During winter, our staff will make every effort to plow the roads in and around camp.  Please use caution at all times.  Additionally, at Camp Minsi the road to the, Trading Post, Dining Hall, Administration building, and main parking lot leading up to the winter tents will be plowed.  The road leading to all the campsites and other facilities are only plowed for certain Council/District winter events.

Winter Lake and Ice Conditions

Please check-in with your Campmaster/Ranger prior to utilizing the lake areas. 

Camp Minsi - Archery Range/Shot Gun Range/Rifle Range

No camping or open fires are permitted in these areas.

If utilizing this area for program, please refer to the Guide to Safe Scouting and follow all the required policies as they pertain to the type of program you are conducting. Additional resource information can be found through the BSA Shooting Sports Standard Operating Procedures. 

Rental is for the grounds itself and no other ammenities and or equipment are provided. 

 

Check In Procedure Back to Top

A volunteer Campmaster or Camp Ranger is usually scheduled to be at camp most of the year.  The Campmaster is the unit’s connection on weekends for the camp.  He/she can help with questions concerning camp and also check in/check out of camp during the weekend.

Check in should take place upon your arrival at camp (arrival time begins at 6 pm)  Your unit needs to check in with the Campmaster (signs posted) and/or Camp Ranger.  During check in the Campmaster/Ranger will check your cabin/site prior to your use and make any notes about noticeable issues at this time.

Check Out Procedure Back to Top

Check out happens prior to your departure from camp.  Check out is conducted by the Campmaster and/or Ranger.  During checkout the Campmaster/Ranger will check the cleanliness of the cabin/site your unit used and compare it with the check in log.  Damages will be charged to the unit by written notice from the Director of Support Services via their unit account or invoiced at a later date.  The dollar amount of damage will be determined by the Camp Ranger.

For Camp Minsi Only.

Please notify us of any changes immediately.  Full refunds will only be granted if the unit notifies the Council office 30 days before the first day of your arrival in writing.  All correspondence should be emailed to Director of Support Services Brian Dungan.

If less than 30 days notice is given, a refund will not be granted.

Full refunds will be given if Minsi Trails Council cancels a reservation due to special circumstances (acts of nature, emergency situations, etc.)
