Camp William Hinds

Camp Hinds, located on Panther Pond in Raymond, proudly serves as Pine Tree Council's primary Scout resident camp, offering traditional resident camping every summer for Scouts from all over the United States.

Off season rental opportunities are popular at Camp Hinds. We offer campsites, cabins or the Messer Training Center Lodge. Many council trainings and district events are held at Camp Hinds.

Summer facilities include a low and high ropes course with a climbing and rappelling tower; rifle, shotgun, pistol, BB & archery ranges; over a mile of waterfront, including a boating area, main waterfront with docks and West Beach; 14 campsites; modern dining hall facilities; a craft shop; Madockawanda Lodge Council Ring; Konecki Health Lodge; Rec Hall; staff cabins and so much more.

Plains Road is between State Routes 85 and 121, both of which intersect Routes 302 and 11 in Raymond. From the South, take Exit 48 of the Maine Turnpike and turn right onto Riverside Street, go straight to through 3-4 sets of lights and turn left onto Rte. 302 West. Go 15 miles and turn right at traffic light onto Route 85. Drive 6 miles on Route 85, past the Jordan Small School. Turn left onto the Plains Road at the bottom of the hill.
Camp is ½ mile on left

From the North, take exit 63 off the Maine Turnpike and turn right onto Rte. 202, stay on Rte. 202 thru first set of lights and turn left onto Rte. 26, go approx. 3 miles and turn left onto North Raymond Road, go ½ mile and turn left onto Egypt Road. At end of Egypt take right onto Rte. 85, go past schools and down large hill and turn left onto Plains Road. Camp is ½ mile on left.

Camp Use Policy Back to Top

Reservations for campsites and buildings will be based on listed capacity. If your group is larger than the capacity of the building or campsite, you will need to rent more facilities to meet your groups needs.

Rentals during the months of June, July & August need special permission from the Council Program Director or Council Ranger.

Inquire about renting equipment such as canoes, kayaks, row boats, snow shoes & skis.

A $50 cleaning fee will be charged if buildings or campsites are not left in clean condition. Remember a Scout leaves a place cleaner than they found it.

Refunds will be given in full if cancellation is made 30 days prior to the event. If a cancellation is made within 14 days of the event a 25% refund is made. Any cancellations made after 14 days will result in no refunds given.
