Nestled in the foothills of the Catskills Mountains, the Tuscarora Scout Reservation encompassing 1,200 acres of forested land on the New York/Pennsylvania Border.
Unique program areas and campsites surround our picturesque Summit Lake. Tuscarora has over 16 miles of hiking trails and 7 miles of mountain biking trails to explore for secluded fishing spots, bear caves, or a hike to the beaver pond. In addition to our merit badge program, choose from many other camp activities including; Mountain Boarding, Log Rolling at Waterfront, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Kayaking, and our 40ft. Climbing Tower.
Tuscarora Scout Reservation with it’s vast hiking trails and it’s varied terrain allows for units to experience and teach Scouts the wonders of Winter Camping. Short Term facilities are available from the weekend after Labor Day in September until the middle of June.

BADEN-POWELL COUNCIL USEAGE AGREEMENT
Tuscarora Scout Reservation – for Scouting Units only
1. All units must register with the Campmaster or Ranger immediately upon arriving at camp. Camp opens for check-in at 5pm on Friday evening and closes at 11am for check-out on Sunday. Any activity outside these times requires prior coordination with the Camp Ranger.
2. Units using additional facilities beyond what is rented will be expected to pay for them. Ranger is authorized to enforce this policy. Exceptions might be possible depending on situation.
3. PARKING POLICY - There is limited parking at all camping areas/units. Camping unit parking limits:
WU1 – 2 vehicles/1 trailer; whatever fits in the small parking area only
WU2 – 2 vehicles/1 trailer; whatever fits in the small parking area only
WU3 – 2 vehicles/1 trailer; area in front of door/driveway must be kept clear. There is additional space (for 3 vehicles) on the left just below the Center Lodge
WU4 – 3-5 vehicles/1 trailer; area in front of door to include entire driveway, must be kept clear.
Nature Lodge – 1 vehicle/trailer. 3 vehicles at the “Climbing Tower Parking”. Entire driveway must be kept clear.
Summer units – Parking, in general, is not permitted in summer units or on the parade field; address any concerns with the Camp Ranger. A vehicle may be kept on site to store food, etc.
All excess vehicles are to be parked in the main parking lot.
Note: Ranger has authority to alter this policy due to road/weather conditions
3. Units must rent sufficient space (lean-tos, center lodges, cabins, etc.) to accommodate the entire unit; adults & youth. Exceptions are summer units where there are no restrictions and at the Nature Lodge where tent camping is permissible in the surrounding area.
4. Tent camping is discouraged in Winter Units especially in early spring or during periods of excessive rain. Limited tenting in winter is permitted so long as the ground is solid. Exceptions are; District/Council events, advancement requirements, or to satisfy a Youth Protection issue. Tent camping is not a solution for not renting sufficient space for your unit. Please address concerns with the Camp Ranger.
5. Damages – Any damage to camp property/equipment will be billed to the unit/person(s) responsible for the damage(s). Some buildings require a damage deposit. Camp Ranger will mediate any/all damages. Unit may opt to repair the damages; i.e. filling in ruts, etc.
6. Pets (dogs/cats) are not permitted on camp property. Service animals are permitted and must have appropriate harness/leash and written documentation of the animals training + proof of rabies vaccination (must be the actual certificate – not just the rabies tag). Must be arranged in advance.
7. Camp Ranger is authorized to remove anyone displaying un-Scoutlike behavior, violence, excessive profanity, deliberate destruction of property, failure to adhere to Usage Agreement, etc.
8. Firearms, alcohol, and all other illegal substances are not permitted anywhere in camp. Violators will be asked to leave. Further actions may be pursued depending on severity.
9. Cigarette smoking is not permitted in any structure or in front of youth.
10. Camp Ranger is authorized to utilize Law Enforcement, as necessary, to maintain order and the overall safety of all Scouts/Leaders as well as protection of Council property.
You must check-in with the Ranger and/or Campmaster upon arrival and provide them with a roster of individuals in Camp. Scouting Groups should use this Roster
You must check out with the Ranger/Campmaster before departure.
For any reason other than extremely adverse weather/travel conditions, cancellations must be made one week in advance.
Cancellation made within seven days of the scheduled use will be subjected to a minimum fee of $10 or 10% of the usage fee, whichever is greater. Cancellation of rental of complete facility is subject to 14 days notice with a fee of 10% of the usage fee.
All renters must follow the cleaning guildelines below and are responsible to replace or repair property or equipment damage or cleaning costs they might incur.
- Empty all trash containers, reline if bags provided, and take all garbage with you.
- Remove all personal items from all rental locations.
- Indoors or outside, make sure all fires are out and clean up fire scars.
- Follow any camp specific cleaning guidelines provided by the ranger.
If renting any building:
- All groups are responsible for set-up and clean-up of any facility used.
- Renters are responsible for the cleaning and condition of other areas in the facility used by their group members beyond what may have been reserved to include small meeting rooms, restrooms and kitchen.
- Wipe down all tables and hard chairs with cleaning solution and paper towels (you must provide these).
- Return all tables, chairs and other furniture to their original position.
- Sweep or vacuum floor, mopping any spills if needed.
- Erase all white boards.
- Make sure water is shut off in any meeting room, restroom or kitchen.
- Make sure all windows are closed. If room is equipped with window blinds or shades, make certain they are left closed.
- Turn off coffee warmers and coffee pots.
- Turn off all lights.
- Make sure no outside doors are propped open.
If kitchen has been used:
- Remove all food from the refrigerator and freezer.
- Wash and put away any dishes used.
- Make certain all appliances are turned off, including coffee maker.
- Wipe down all surfaces, including the inside of the microwave.
All renters are responsible to "leave camp better than they found it". Please report any damage to Camp Ranger and Campmaster. Failure to comply with any of these guidelines may result in the loss of security deposit or additional charges.
