Check-In Instructions
- Bring your own paper products for the latrines. Do Not Put anything but human waste and toilet paper in latrines!!! NO wet wipes or feminine products. You will be billed for the removal of non-latrines items.
- Do not bring any firewood to camp. Corp of Engineers has a strict policy of outside wood brought into their property. (We lease Camp Campbell from the Army Corp of Engineers.) There are plenty of cut/stacked wood and downed trees on the property that can be used.
- If you are bringing any watercrafts (canoes, etc.) to camp, they must be thoroughly cleaned before you bring them to Kerr Lake. (Invasive mussels.) You should also clean them after you remove them from the lake.
- When the water level is high you will need to use Epps Fork Rd to access Mill Creek Rd. (See map.)
- The gate will be locked. The gate lock code will be sent in your reservation confirmation message. Keep gate closed while in camp. (You can leave it unlocked. We have unwanted visitors when the gate is open.)
- The water system must be activated by turning on the switch on the outside of the Block House building. There is a sign that reads “WATER” above the box that has switch inside. DO NOT go in the block house and turn valves on/off!! It could cause the system to shut down.
- If you want to use the Block House, you will need to make the reservation and get the code.
- Campfires must remain in campfire rings. Do not create a new campfire ring.
- Overnight camping only in designated campsites that you have reserved.
- Be courteous to other campers. Always practice the Scout Oath and Law.
- Any problems or concerns, please call Terry McIntire 910-824-6201. (It’s also on the front gate) or Robin Covert 919-274-7190.
Check Out Instruction
1. Campfires must be extinguished. Unused firewood neatly stacked.
2. Remove all paper products from the latrines. You can put extra toilet paper in the metal cans located in the new vault toilets. (Mice will tear them up and make a mess.)
3. If you are using one of the new vault toilet privies, please clean the riser (seat) and concrete floor before leaving. The privies have been placed next to water spigot for easy cleaning. Please use the water hose on the side of the vault toilets to clean. (Do not put water into the tanks!)
4. Please make sure all trash is out of your campsite before you leave. The county has removed the dumpsters so you will need to take trash home with you. The latrines are not trash containers!! You will be billed for removal of any trash items.
5. Turn the switch for the water off. The switch is located on the outside of the Block House building in the box below the sign that says “Water”. Coordinate with other campers about who will turn off the water.
6. Lock the entry gate and make sure code is not showing on tumbler. Again, coordinate with other campers who will be the last out and will lock the gate.
