Check-in Procedures: Final campsite assignments will be provided at the check-in building.
Check-in time for weekend camping begins after 3:00 pm on Fridays.
Speed limits are 25 mph on main roads and 10 mph near campsite areas. Vehicles must stay on the roads and parking areas. Do not drive or park in campsites or on the grass.
Parking Passes: All vehicles must have a parking pass on the dashboard, which is available upon arrival at the check-in building
Campfires are permitted in the designated fire rings. Check the Texas Burn Ban website for burn ban information in San Jacinto County.
Refer to the Camp Strake Leader Guide and Camp Policies.
Departure procedures: Check-out is no later than 12:00 pm on Sundays. Follow the seven principles of Leave No Trace and Scouting America Outdoor Ethics. Before departing camp, your unit must clean every bathroom/shower used. Employ a method called a police line where Scouts stand side-by-side, within arm's reach of each other. The line systematically walks the entire campsite, inspecting and picking up any trash or debris, and cleaning up campsites effectively. After the police line cleanup, a leader then inspects the campsite to ensure it's clean, undamaged, and all gear and trash are removed. Ashes from campfires should be removed from the fire rings and disposed of in ash barrels next to dumpsters.
