This program area includes the Pipsico Waterfront along the James River. There is NO SWIMMING in this area, however the waterfront is perfect for exploring during a nature hike. Cliffs 60 to 75 feet high overlook a picturesque mile long sandy beach and several cypress tree coves. The cliff walls are studded with marine shells and fossils providing tangible evidence of the James River’s influence on life over the centuries. The beach has proven to be a beach comber’s delight for discovering nautical treasures like shark teeth, prehistoric whale bones, driftwood and a peaceful observation site for beautiful shoreline sunrises and sunsets.
You can rent canoes, kayaks, and rowboats for event purposes, but this must be coordinated separately. If you are interested in this area for boating purposes, please e-mail camping@pipsicobsa.com for further information and coordination.

Please ensure that your facility use request is submitted at least two (2) weeks prior to your arrival date otherwise your reservation can't be guranteed.
Prior to your arrival at camp, the Weekends Campmaster will contact your unit with exact check-in information. Upon arriving at camp, the Campmaster will check you in, collect your participant roster, explain the rules, and show you to your campsite.
The Campmaster for the weekend will advise you of the specific check-out procedures for your departure. Please ensure that your campsite and any faculties you utilize while visiting the property are left in the same condition, if not better, than what you found them in.
Tidewater Council property reservations that are canceled in advance of 14 days prior to the reservation are transferable; otherwise you will receive a refund, minus a $20 cancellation fee, or the reservation fee, whichever is less. If the reservation is canceled within 14 days, no refund is given, but the reservation is transferable to another rental period within the calendar year.
All facilities and amenities must be left in as good if not better condition then when found. If facilities are not cleaned or amenities left in nonworking order, you will be assessed a cleaning or replacement fee.
