Welcome to K-M Scout Ranch!
We are proud to offer year-round BYOT (bring your own tent) camping to in-council and out of council units! Camping is in one of our pre-selected sites. Custom campsite requests can be placed with the Camp Ranger when booking. Bathroom and shower facilities are available in season, and pit latrines are available for winter camping. Year-round indoor plumbing is available for purchase.
Sleeping quietly among the forested slopes of the North Moccasin Mountains is the ghost town of Kendall – a once bustling gold mining community. Kendall is the only ghost town in the world that belongs to the Boy Scouts of America – The Montana Council, to be specific. Thanks to the late Glenn C. Morton of Lewistown, the heirs of the late Mrs. Margharite McLean, a former Kendall resident, and the Munski brothers, (Bill and Joe) who contributed additional land for the present day K-M Scout Ranch, the “ghosts” of Kendall live again…amidst lively company.
Our camp opened in the 70’s, and operated out of the ghost town until we expanded over the mountain to the land you stand on now. A lot of improvements have taken place since our camp opened, and we hope you enjoy them to their fullest potential.
We hope you enjoy your time here at K-M!
ATV courses are available to your unit for an additional charge. Please contact the Camp Ranger for more information or to register your unit.
From Lewistown proceed North on Montana Hwy 191 to Hilger. Turn left onto Winifred Road, and immediately left again onto North Kendall Road. Follow signs for K-M Scout Ranch. After the gate, follow signs for "K-M Scout Camp".
