GENERAL INFORMATION
• 335 acres
• 15 campsites
• 8 campsites have 12’x21’ pavilions
• 3 Large program pavilions:
o Lakeside Pavilion $50/weekend
o Learning Center Pavilion $50/weekend
o Hank Deschner Pavilion $100/weekend
• Medical Lodge for Council events
• 6 latrines and two central shower facilities with power
• Drinking water is available.
• 6-acre private pond
• Home of our summer, spring break and winter National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)
• Texas History Trail is in nearby Gonzales

• Campsites are reserved on a first come, first served basis
• No camping fees for Capitol Area Council units
• Out of council units pay $5 per camper
• Large program pavilions can only be used if reservation fees have been paid in advance.
• No fee for small campsite 12’x21’ pavilions.
• All units must satisfy BSA two deep leadership standards
• All program area fees must be paid in advance to the Capitol Area Council office
Campsite Policy and Rules
All units must satisfy BSA two deep leadership standards
All program area fees must be paid in advance through the council's reservation system, Black Pug.
Capitol Area Council Scouting units must pay $3 per person for use fee.
Out of council Scouting units must pay $6 per person for use fee.
Please camp in the campsite reserved.
Hammocks are prohibited.
A well does provide drinking water but is not reliable. It is advised you bring your own water.
Bathroom facilities and portable toilets are available.
Clean your campsite and take all trash with you when you leave the camp.
No ranger is on-site. Please behave according to the Scout Law and the Outdoor Code.
All units must follow all Capitol Area Council and National BSA policies
Camp Check-In Procedure
There is no ranger on-site. The gate code will be emailed to you prior to your arrival date. Use the gate code to access the property and proceed to your reserved campsite.
Camp Check-Out Procedure
If the Council property you are using does not have a campmaster or ranger on duty, please remember a Scout is Clean, and leave the area better than you found it. Clean the restrooms if available, and pack out all trash. Do not leave piles of firewood in areas that need to be mowed. Please close and lock the gate as you leave.
